Summerville's Hometown Hero Banner Program

Summerville is a town rich in history, community spirit, and deep appreciation for those who have served in the military. Each year, the Summerville Parks Foundation offers a special way to recognize and honor local veterans and active-duty service members through the Hometown Hero Banner program.

For a sponsorship of $225, families and friends can dedicate a personalized banner to their loved one, which will be proudly displayed in downtown Summerville from late May to the middle of September. These banners serve as a moving tribute, lining the streets with the faces of those who have bravely served our nation.

Participants also have the option to renew their banners for subsequent years at a reduced cost of $100 for the life of the banner. With a reservation deadline of April 15, 2025, spots are limited, making it important to secure a banner early.

Proceeds from the program benefit the Summerville Parks Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing local parks and recreation opportunities. This initiative not only honors military heroes but also strengthens the community by supporting valuable projects and programs.
